Call For Sites

Call for Sites

The Call for Sites consultation is a key part of the Full Update of the Local Plan. This is a way for landowners, developers, individuals, Parish and Town Councils and other interested parties to suggest sites for development or for protection as Local Green Space.  This is a normal part of plan making.

The published list of submitted sites at this stage of the Local Plan Review enables residents and other stakeholders to view sites being promoted within their neighbourhoods.  They have not at this stage been assessed for their suitability for possible development.  They are being published without any comment or modification.

The Call for sites is a technical rather than a policy document. It does not make decisions or recommendations on which sites will go forward and be allocated for development. Neither does a site’s inclusion provide any indication of its acceptability for future development e.g. it does not imply that planning permission will be granted for development

We need to ensure that the sites eventually allocated within the Plan are deliverable.  This means, among other factors, that the landowner is open to developing it within the required timescales.  As such, a Call for Sites is an important part of finding out what land may be available.

Whilst the Council is not yet formally seeking feedback from residents and other stakeholders the sites can be viewed by following the following link: List of submitted sites
