    The Council consulted on a change to the wording of Policy INF03 of the Adopted Local Plan which relates to housing, Gypsy & Traveller and economic development.
  • Local Plan Full Update - Call for Sites

    Winter 2022

    The new Local Plan is required to allocate sites to meet the housing, employment and other needs of the district. To better understand the availability of sites, the Council undertook a Call for Sites open to landowners, developers, town and parish councils, residents and others to submit sites for consideration. A review and assessment of sites will be undertaken to inform the draft new Local Plan – Preferred Options.

    Community consultation to help shape Breckland’s new Local Plan. If you haven’t shared feedback, there’s now an opportunity to do so or revisit some of the topics in light of the new information in the Development Strategy Options consultation.

    A review of the feedback shared so far raised further questions and the Council is now adding an extra phase of community consultation to further consider key issues related to growth across the district.

    Once the Draft Updated Local Plan is approved by Council it will be submitted to the government's Planning Inspectorate for examination.
  • Local Plan - Examination in Public

    Once the new Local Plan is finalised and approved by the Council’s Cabinet, it will be submitted to the Government for an Examination in Public.
  • Local Plan Adoption

    Once the Local Plan has been found ‘sound’ by the Government’s Planning Inspectorate and any required modifications have been completed, the Council will approve the adoption of the new Local Plan which will then help shape the future of Breckland to 2046.
